LA TOMATINA DE LA PERIKA EN EL PERIÓDICO LOCAL + 11 DE SEPTIEMBRE
¡Hola a todos! Me estreno en el blog. Los que me habéis seguido hasta ahora por Facebook, ya sabéis que hace un par de semanas, con motivo de la Tomatina de Buñol, les hablé y mostré vídeos a mis alumnos de la fiesta y convencí a mi director para celebrar nuestra particular Tomatina en el instituto con bolas de papel rojo que simularan los tomates; para aquellos que no estabais al tanto, pues ya lo sabéis.
Pues ayer al llegar a clase me habían dejado en la puerta un par de periódicos locales y... en portada: CELEBRATING "LA TOMATINA"

Friday, August 31, had students seeing red. No one was angry. It was the La Tomatina de Buñol Celebration. According to Wikipedia, “La Tomatina is the ‘World’s Biggest Food Fight’ held annually in the Valencion town of Buñol in which participants throw tomatoes and get involved in this tomato fight purely for fun. It is held on the last Wednesday of August, during the week of festivities of Buñol. Every year approximately 40,000 tomato enthusiasts make their way from all corners of the world to fight with tomatoes during this festival.” The new Spanish teacher, Mrs. Dasi had had her Spanish classes working hard all week preparing for the fesitval. At 2:45 on Friday, her students met in the gym and celebrated WCS sytle with paper “tomatoes”.

HOY ES 11 DE SEPTIEMBRE: como si fuera 8 de abril, na de na. En mi instituto no han hecho nada especial. Algunos alumnos me han preguntado si sabía qué pasó ese día y ya está. Tienen curiosidad y desconocen si más allá de sus fronteras la gente conoce y es consciente de lo que ocurrió. Hoy dormirán más tranquilos sabiendo que los españoles lo vimos en directo y que la noticia dio la vuelta al mundo.
